As an interpreter — great job learning! Get in the Deaf community and go to events. Look for a Deaf mentor to help teach you both! It’s so important for him to be around other Deaf people or people that sign ♥️

I just want to tell you how much I appreciate you. My daughter is named after a relative who was sent to a “care home” before she was 5 because she was Deaf. My family forgot her, but I found her and my kiddo knows they have no expectations, I just thought the named deserved a second chance at being loved properly from the start.

We just started learning (second time for me) sign language as a family. No deaf or hard of hearing members. Just genuinely want my daughter to learn how to communicate to the deaf community. And we watch a professor, who’s recorded all his classes, and they’re free!!! It’s lifeprint.com. He’s so easy to follow.
