Yes, girl, the heat the heat is horrible and never used to bother me before I’ve been out in the high desert of California Southern California and lately it’s been in the hundred 107 and it’s horrible like I don’t wanna go anywhere near the heat. I don’t wanna go outside and play with my grandbabies. I’m afraid I’m gonna faint afraid I’m afraid I’m gonna fall and hit my head which is all bad it’s just it’s totally frustrating and I got doctors. Tell me oh don’t worry. It’s just an arthritis in your neck. Oh don’t worry it’s just anxiety and then they prescribe me 12 different medications for ailments that I don’t even have like gout I don’t even have gout. Why would they prescribe me medication for gout?

I haven't found a good way to manage my systems/flare ups, especially when it's hot. I'm on beta blockers (twice daily) and prescription fluids daily and it seems to only help minimally. I haven't driven in about 2 years because the symptom burden is so high I don't have "good days" anymore

Hi there as someone who struggles horrible with medical anxiety. I have Eds and pots. I take propanalol I’m on the lowest dose 3 times a day and it has helped a ton. I started super low and slow and we have worked up to what my body needs. I live in Arizona and it’s so hot I also suffer from heat intolerance. But please get on a beta blocker it has help bring my blood pressure up and stable.

one thing that I'm find. alot of pots patients doing understand why the increase in electrolytes and salt needs to be.
you said you drink a liquid IV everyday? and put salt on your food? that's it?
I drink only electrolytes. 120 oz everyday. no plain water. plus an IV of hydration.
do you also have heds by chance?

I’m right there with you. I had to move back to my home state with family nearby because I’m a single mom with a toddler and my pots has been getting worse and I don’t know what would happen with my child if I had a really bad episode. It’s so scary. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. Please invest in a watch or something that alerts 911 when a fall happens. Also try to make sure your kiddo knows what to do if another really bad episode happens 🫶🏼

my dr said in the summer increase extra water and electrolytes daily, she also said try not to be out in the summer and also turn your car on before getting in it and put ac on, also compression socks/stocking. also you may need a medication adjustment. corlanor helped me so much. maybe you can get a mini fridge in your room so you always have what you need. for your kiddo you can try to do things later in day when its not as hot or early morning if you can tolerate it. I'm sorry you are having such a hard time I get it

I hear your mama. I just got pre-diagnosed with pots and dysautonomia and it sucks so bad because I’m a barber and I work six days a week 12 hour days on my feet constantly hustle bustle at the shop and for the last three weeks I’ve only made it one day a week and it’s just been so horrible. My question is are we even eligible for fricking disability because this is debilitating to say the least this is horrible my flareup this week has lasted all week. I’ve been in bed all week with barely any enough energy to go to the bathroom. I haven’t showered. I haven’t done laundry. I haven’t changed my sheets. I can’t play with my grandbabies. I can’t do the dishes. It’s been awful absolutely awful. This is the worst syndrome ever I mean they’re all bad but this one for me sucks so I feel your pain.

At the dollar tree they have these fever stickers that are basically mini ice pack things in the baby section, get them and the towel that get cold when wet. That’s been my go to this summer cuz this summer has been intense.

I have POTS too. If you’re already diagnosed a primary care doctor should be able to prescribe you beta blockers so you can skip the specialist for now. Like you said drink a lot of water and salt alllll day not just when you feel the episodes coming on. I just double my daily salt intake because of the heat and it’s really helping. Sending you 🫶🫶 I’ve heard compression garments are great but I can’t tolerate them

I started passing out from the heat since I was 9 and not one dr my entire life has said oh you have pots and I started seeing a cardiologist when I was 9 bc I was fainting from the heat. I have mentioned that to multiple cardiologist and they said of your heart conditions don't cause you to faint from the heat. I was diagnosed with hEDS at 20 and I've never really been seen by a rheumatologist bc all of them I went to said the same thing, I don't know how to help you and they pushed me off to the next and after the 7th I gave up that was in 2015. I now know that not only do I have hEDS, but I have dysautonomia, pots, and many more. My pots episodes have been way more often and they're getting worse. I drove myself to the er from work and I passed out at the registration desk. That was the worst episode that I've ever had, I passed out like 4 or 5 times it was so scary. I live alone but I have kids kids 50 50 with my ex

I am SO sorry. This condition is hellish. You are not a bad mom, pots is such a heavy burden. A good neurologist has been #1 for me (or a cardiologist who is INFORMED on pots, preferably a woman), abdominal compression has been a lifesaver, and check out @POTS Doctor videos. Don’t lose hope ❤️
