Even if all the manufacturers would just stick to one. Instead your liable to have imperial on one component and metric on the other and it makes for a long day after slamming a metric bolt into a imperial component

my deal is pick one or the other. too any things out there run a mix of the 2. then you go to metric and Volvo runs 10,12,14mm heads, cat has 10,13,16mm heads and it's annoying having your entire tool box out to fix anything

imperial fasteners are cheaper than metric it's that simple to understand. for example, 1/2x20-1"= .74c m12-1.25-25mm (less material mind you) is 1.02$...

The only good part about imperial is stuff like NPT fittings/bolts are way easier to find in hardware stores, or even hydraulic lines, in my opinion the only reason imperial is still holding on is because of the older sometimes locally ran hardware/hydraulic stores that stock all imperial stuff, atleast here on the east coast, getting a metric hydraulic line made is considered a headache and a hour round trip to find a place
