I think people underestimate how quickly a guest list grows. I live in Small Town USA, where 300–500 person fire hall weddings are common. If your mom is one of 10 and your dad is one of 7, you can have 300 relatives before you even start inviting friends. For Taylor and Travis…with huge families, lifelong friends, teammates, coworkers, and people who’ve been part of their lives for years…a 1,000 person wedding honestly doesn’t sound that crazy to me.

Funny thing we were in the middle of planning our wedding because we thought it was going to be a cheap thing. We thought we could plan six months to a year out. We have no living mother or father and no siblings between us. We still ended up with a guest list of 165 people.
