my grandpa dated a new woman not even 3 months after my grandma died... I still haven't forgiven him even after 2 years

Since nearly nobody here is giving a fucking verdict, I'm just gonna do it:
OP is the AH. I feel like the current wife was already in the picture before the previous wife died. Also, grief doesn't have a time limit and this loss is pretty fresh. 2 years is not that long. Current wife is also insanely jealous (which is odd, because the "competition" is fucking dead).

I have a friend whose mom passed earlier this year, they are struggling with their dad already starting to date and forgetting them and their siblings in some ways. They're trying to be understanding but it hurts and feels like they lost both parents.

As soon as the wife made him decline the offer from the Uncle to bring him it was no longer about the money, it was personal. She was taking the first steps in making their new child the favorite and pushing the older child to the side. It will always and forever be favoring the new child now that she knows she can do it.

2 years into our relationship is the bare minimum of time before you get married.

If I was the son I'd tell him he doesn't have to worry about the trip bc I wouldn't go with him or his wife if they paid me. I'll resume the trip when I can pay for myself and go with ppl who love me and loved my mom.

having kids that late may not be as dangerous anymore but you are going to miss out on so many experiences with the kid due to age and health

There's no rules to grieving or how long you're allowed to wait before moving on to someone else, but if you have a child in that scenario who's also grieving you need to put your feelings aside and do what's best for the kid. the kid has absolutely no agency in a scenario like that, or any scenario really
