Well, I’ll be the first to say that my husband and I didn’t know right away that we should be together. We kind of just stay together because we had nowhere else to go. Our love was difficult, rocky, and passionate in the beginning. It took us years to get married. But we had children and decided to make a commitment to each other. It’s been over 20 years and we have built a family together, a successful business together and there’s a lot of joy. Sometimes love doesn’t mean that either one of two people are head over heels for each other. For me, it was just the two of us surviving and being there for each other. Our marriage is still built on love, respect and commitment. Then 10 years ago, Jesus came into our lives and made everything even stronger. Sometimes I see these TikTok‘s and I read the comments and feel left out that my husband and I didn’t have this great love story. But that’s OK, I am OK with that now. We’re just two kids from broken homes who decided to make a family together.

literally this. my husband didn't think he was ready for marriage until we met and realized that he needed to step up immediately because he knew right away that he wanted to be around me forever. he told me he loved me less than two weeks after meeting and his singular goal since then has been to take care of me and make me happy. 5 years later and he's still as obsessed with me now as he was back then, if not more so He asks for Nothing in return tbh, he loves to see me laying down, relaxed and happy. He just likes that I exist in our home and that he gets to see me every single day. He loves listening to me talk, playing my video games with me, watching my shows with me, and he spends so much time and energy making sure I'm relaxed, comfortable, fed, and happy. It's the kind of behavior that makes me WANT to take care of him too. To bring him snacks the way he always does for me. To listen to his favorite books because he likes to hear me talk about them. It's the kind of love that makes me WANT to take care of things at home so that when he returns we can spend all our time just hanging out. Because I know if I wasn't able to do those things for him, he would still love me the same. It's not an obligation, and he doesn't do things for me so I'll return the favor. He just loves me. On days when I clean all day he comes home and says "Everything looks amazing, thank you for working so hard on this." On days where I get absolutely nothing done except reading he comes home and says "Good job resting today, I'm proud of you for taking a break." and he Means it I didn't even realize what it was like to be someone's dream girl until I was already living in it
