@sororityrushcoach: If you missed the ideal sweet spot for letters of recommendation, or couldn’t find some of yours for specific chapters, don’t panic! There’s a lot of different ways to get on the recruitment team’s radar. Early is better to maximize your invites, but turning them in late is always better than not at all. 1️⃣ Focus on what you can control. No recommendations? Get your registration form and PNM video turned in ASAP. Follow all the chapters and recruitment team members on Instagram. Submit your other materials as soon as possible to help chapters at least know you exist before formal rounds begin. 2️⃣ Focus on RIFs & LOS: Make sure you're getting both Recruitment Information Forms (the official ones on national sites) and supplementary Letters of Support sent directly to the local chapters. 3️⃣ Call in backup support! If you’re getting stuck, a rush coach can guide you on how to find additional alumnae and answer questions for requirements about your specific school. Working with a coach can expedite the process and as you navigate exactly where to turn everything in, how many alumnae are needed, and applicable deadlines. 4️⃣ Take a deep breath and just try to turn in recs for as many chapters as you can! It’s a great way to stand out, but it is NOT a free ticket into a house. Your other application materials play a huge part in the process, so take the time to thoughtfully complete any registration materials like short answers and PNM videos. It’s important to remember, these letters help the recruitment teams get excited about you before you even walk through the door.
