you actually changed my mind on this. I knew that what he had said was clumsily done, and felt it was an attempt at honest and open communication. I obviously did know that consent given in advance can be withdrawn but I now do see it through the lens you mentioned about his words indicating that he wasn't going to want that to happen.

Lotta dudes in the comments not listening to the whole voice memo or this video. I think most come from the idea that the guy says “Respectfully…” but then goes on to treat the woman as an object and be disrespectful, but dudes are ignoring that cuz he said “respectfully”. Yes the voice memo guy was “honest”, but that doesnt mean thats a good thing or not weird or gross. He literally says “whats the point of hanging out if we arent going to have sex” umm idk getting to know each other? Thats what relationships are! This dude doesnt want a relationship he wants a toy to use when he wants it. Thats not treating women as people, guys. Idk why thats hard to understand. And while it isnt “coersion”, its the possibility of leading to coersion if he did go over to her place—and thats easy to realise if you just google/data dive for a few minutes. Voice memo guy is gross. The person who uploaded the voice memo without his permission or knowledge is also weird. Both can be true.

He's clearly communicating his intent and wants for a connection going forward. And doing so with full understanding it may not likely be what the recipient wants. There was no coercion in that voicemail. It was saying he wanted X, and if she wants Y, they won't be compatible.
