@frommichiganwithloveblog: POV: You discover the only place in Michigan where you can ride a rail bike. 🚲🌲 Forget crowded attractions, this ended up being one of my favorite adventures in Northern Michigan. Just outside Traverse City, @ridewheelsonrails offers Michigan’s only rail biking experience on retired railroad tracks. We chose the 6-mile ride, & it was absolutely worth the extra few dollars. The route takes you through quiet forests, across scenic creeks, & past historic railroad artifacts you wouldn’t otherwise see, including rail stakes that date back to World War II. The tracks are retired, so there’s no need to worry about trains. Halfway through the ride, staff turn each rail bike around on a turntable, & they even manage the road crossings for you.
