WAGES are too low. The reason social security is depleted is because wages were never raised to match the costs of living. If social security is paid on a percentage of everyone’s paychecks, and everyone’s paychecks have been too small for 2 decades, then of course social security is depleted and now everyone paying into it their wholes lives will NEVER GET A PENNY OF IT BACK AND CAN NEVER RETIRE.

Here is the simple fact of the matter…prices don’t need to increase just because wages do. Profit margins are far too greedy. You’d be surprised what a smaller (yet still plentiful) profit margin would do for our people.

hot take: its not minimum wage thats the issue, its that companies raised prices from covid, and they refuse to come back down. look at almost every corporations profits. they're ALL thru the roof.
