My dad has a neuropace stimulator implanted into his brain under his skull for his seizures. It has helped SO much. They didn’t go away but they have significantly reduced them. He was part of a research study so he was one of the first few people to get it

I don’t blame her for being scared. This procedure is extremely scary. I will keep you guys in my prayers and Tati is extremely strong and will get thru this and you will too. I send nothing but love and support

My brother went through that. The results are worth it. They are quick to respond to when they get seizures

make it like a fun girls adventure with her.. get matching pj's for each day, do self care things face masks small things like that or games, do stuff that she likes and with gma at night certain snacks or movie themed snacks n have movie type nights n in the meantime plan it with her so it doesnt stress her so much plus it'll help from being so bored between procedures just sitting in a bed

Its very stressful but if they can figure it out and do something this can be a tiny blimp that leads to an even better quality of life for her. I hope it works out.

I’m a neuro nurse in an Neurology/Neurosurgery/Epilepsy monitoring unit! Because Tati’s events are so frequent, I imagine they will capture what the need fairly quickly! Hopefully she’s only there for 4-5 days. Sending you so much love 🫶🏿

I had this study about 10 years ago. I only ended up staying for 24 hours and they told me I could go home. It depends on the hospital and the individual but if they see what they need to see within a shorter timeframe they can let her go home within a shorter timeframe! You can also contact the hospital prior to her stay and see if someone (yourself, gma, etc.) can stay with her overnight since she has a developmental/mental disability. EMU’s (Epilepsy Monitoring Units) are typically accommodating!

My daughter got the VNS in 2012 when she was 5, it was the absolute best decision ever. Shes off all seizure medications (she would have up to 30 seizures some days). If you need someone to talk to about anything let me know ❤️
