I am an 18 year old straight out of high school, I went through a 2 year program that taught me welding, engineering, and machining/Nesting plasma tables and all sorts of heavy machinery. I was hired a month ago at a construction company and I am making top dollar for my age. I am the lead Welder and Engineer because I am the only one there with my skillset. I am being trusted with talking to customers and giving quotes all the way to the finished product I am planning on starting a welding rig and/or shop by the time im 19. I am taking a 3g stick test real soon and possibly a flux aswell so we can bid on structural. I am finally really proud of myself and I am doing a veterans job at a month into 18 years old. If you could give me any advice, I will gladly take it and learn🫡

I've been on business for 20 years as a welder and I get to work thank God only single day no I don't now I don't even have to advertise people just know me and call me every single day I do apartments buildings schools convenience stores and the list goes on the trick to being your own Boss is knowing the right connections and responsible and the rest is easy

Both of my boys have welding businesses, this business is NOT for the weak. They literally work 12 hours on site then come home shower and spend another 2 hours working on quotes. They are up at 6:00am ordering metal and other materials and WEEKENDS - no such thing

I don’t have business cards till this day. Quality work speaks for itself. But you are right there is no stop! If it’s a thought and not in your heart and mind that it’s a nonstop grind you will never make it..
