I have had these since i was 11 yrs old and i have never knew it could be something i was eating mine only flare up when i am moving my arms in away that i haven’t before and i already know what is about to happen. I have seen many dr’s and they say surgery but mine is so bad that i would have to have a skin graph to replace the arm pit and i can’t be put to sleep for the skin graph so i have been dealing with this for 40 yrs and its so annoying. We were told it was hereditary my sister and my brother had them and it was said it’s the glands and need to be removed. I don’t wear alot of light color tops because i can’t have a flare at anytime… i wish there was a way to get away from it. But my 2 kids get them as well. I hate it.

Is this painful. I’m suspecting I’m going through this right now. I’ve had “follicullitis” about 4 times since May. I’ve been treated with Doxycicline, Bactrim, and another one I can’t remember. They tell me ppl with HS get it when they’re young not at my age… I’m so frustrated.

I’m on cesentyx and it is life changing it helps reduce the flares by at least 90% for me at least, it’s the best !

On my fourth biologic because the pharmacy can’t keep any of them in stock so I keep starting over again and again with loading doses. Can’t ever be on any one of them long enough to determine IF they even work. 9 months of this and zero benefit.

Lumē bodywash works really well, as its acidified, it has a better pH balance for our skin & it helps remove hyperpigmentation. Their deodorant is the only thing I can use besides the natural crystal kind without breaking out.

I went to a derm with one and she didn’t believe I had a boil/cyst and she didn’t even want to examine me until I told her I had just had one drained at urgent two moth a before bc it got huge in a matter of like hours when she finally was like “ok fine show me” she kept squeezing the shit out of it bc she said she only needed to get it open then didn’t want to drain it bc they didn’t take my insurance. The worst part was she had left me exposed while looking into the self price and when she came back in she didn’t knock just burst in I still had my cuca out and her nurse left the door open while I tried to redress
