@officeofthesacp: Advocacy on Reporting Gender-Based Violence (GBV): Breaking the Culture of Silence As part of my commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of women, girls, and vulnerable members of society, I actively advocated for increased awareness and reporting of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) across Kano State. Through community engagements, media campaigns, and stakeholder meetings, I encouraged members of the public to break the culture of silence by reporting all cases of gender-based violence, sexual harassment, domestic violence, child abuse, rape, and other related offences to the appropriate authorities. I emphasized that silence protects perpetrators, while timely reporting helps safeguard victims, promotes justice, and prevents further abuse. I urged victims, families, community leaders, religious institutions, and civil society organizations to work closely with the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant agencies to ensure that survivors receive protection, support, and access to justice. This advocacy forms part of my broader commitment to strengthening community policing, protecting human rights, and creating a safer, more peaceful, and more inclusive society for all.
