@wulfwomen: Endometriosis excision surgery helped me so much (and all the other things I do to manage my remaining symptoms), but ovulating is still pretty unpleasant. I would be lying if I said that didn’t freak me out a little sometimes, but there are reasons other than actual endo tissue that this can happen. My body learned through years of pain from endo that it’s supposed to react a certain way when ovulation is coming. Central sensitization is something worth googling, it's a one reason pain can outlast the actual disease. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9972194/ https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6514255/ https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/9134-ovulation-pain-mittelschmerz #endometriosis #endoexcisionsurgery #endometriosisawareness #pelvicpain #chronicpain
I’m one month post excision and ovulating right now with massive pain, this gave me some reassurance I needed rn 🥹

my first ovulation cycle post op was pain free but my second one did have some pain. i brought it up to my surgeon and concluded it was a cyst rupture. I'm still pretty much pain free especially compared to before the surgery but I still track my symptoms and will follow up with my surgeon to stay ahead of the problem!
