This was 100% my owner at my last daycare center. The employees she was closest to went on multiple beach trips in the year and a half I was working there. The owner herself went on several trips as did the AD and director. I asked to leave by 10 am once and she told me she didn’t think she could make it happen because “that was the weekend she was going to the beach”.

I called in last Wednesday because I have a really bad bunion that needs surgery, and I could barely walk on it. They approved my PTO for that day, but still haven’t approved my 4 days off that I requested June 1st. Love working in childcare! We have to use our PTO before our unpaid days which sounds very illegal to me. 🤦♀️☺️

My old daycare job wouldn’t let me have off to figure out schooling when they told me they would let me have off then let their favorite teacher leave 3 hours early to go pack for gatlinburg. Favorites teacher got off at 4:30, she wasn’t going to be leaving for gatlinburg until 6, she left work at 1:30

Don’t forget that if you don’t take a picture of the time off sheet they’ll act like they knew nothing about the time off they approved. Had a point taken because they wrote down the wrong dates. I was on a cruise so couldn’t get there a day earlier. I even had it written down on the calendar in my classroom

This was the most ridiculous part of working in childcare. I was never allowed to use my pto when I wanted. They told me when I could use it. So I never could go to the doctor or take my child.

we get approved for time off all the time, but our PTO rate sucks so bad. We only get ONE HOUR of PTO for every 40 hours worked😐 Meanwhile my boss is rarely here and takes like 6+ vacations a year😭
