I have a really good friend who spent 20 minutes trying to find a nail polish that came from a company that was ethical and only did business with ethical companies. She couldn't find a single one where she felt confident that her money was going to a company that is 100% ethical. This was just for nail polish. Imagine having to do that for every aspect of your life? It's so overwhelming and feels impossible. I certainly can't live up to that standard and would never except anyone else to do that. I don't know why people expect everyone else to meet standards that they themselves can't even get close to. The hypocrisy is insane.

And I keep seeing people ignore the facts because they’re focused on one Amentum contract out of the company’s many government contracts. Amentum was hired to replace the previous contractor after serious safety issues at the facility. Personally, I don’t think it’s inherently immoral to take that contract if the detention center is going to exist regardless and the purpose is to improve conditions. People are free to disagree, but acting like that automatically makes everyone involved evil oversimplifies a much more complicated moral question
