@coryoncarsofficial: 2005 Jeep Liberty Renegade | 83k Miles | Alternator Warranty 2nd day in a row I had to warranty an alternator. Before this week it had been years since I had to warranty one.
At least it was an easy one. Had that happen to me on an older ford escape

alternator died, so I put an AutoZone one in, and it worked fine for a couple of days. Then I hooked my subs back up, and it died on me. So I went OEM, and it worked fine so far

you should get a strut clamp so you don't have to shove a stick in the hood

When I worked at oriellys we always were warrenting the reman bestest and reman ultimas . The new ultimas were usually always good.

At least the swap is easy peasy on that. On my 06 Tribute I had to take the passenger axle out to access it for removal. It was insane.

used to work for oreillys for a long time, bench test every starter or alternator before leaving the store new or reman ive seen plenty out of the box short much easier to fix

I stopped buying those Ultimas from O'Reilly. Always had issues with their bearings going out.
I get mine from Napa or Advance Auto now

Bro, I just replaced a cv axle from Advance Auto Parts and with less than 5k miles it broke. Perhaps the quality has gone further down from just a couple of years. Who knows right!?

Years ago the solenoid went out on a 91 Taurus I had at the time. I went through 3 brand news ones in a row, before the 4th finally worked.

I think they should just stop doing remanufactured alternators. I had one right out of the box and the bearing was no good.

I’ve had the same brand reman alternators smoke right after installing. I just do new, doesn’t have to be oem

I used to be a nissan dealer tech, I will tell you that aftermarket alternators and lots of other electronic components will fail more times than not, its the way that nissan (both Renault and Datsun) contracted parts out to China. You're content is awesome btw man 😎
