@cassidyandkids: Replying to @Soph should you start solids with your 4 month old just because your pediatrician says you can 🤔 my thoughts and overall recommendation for typically developing babies 🙌🏻✨ #startingsolids #babyledweaning #firstfoods #babytips #4monthsold
If there’s a family history of allergens, is starting earlier than 6 months better?

I always waited till 6 months. My first two have a few food allergies so I’ll be waiting for my third to start and will try his siblings allergy foods last

Yes! Started at 6.5 months for the same reason and she is 7 months now. Grabs everything eats well and also sucks from her honey bear cup. Early isn’t always better

Mine just turned 4 months and he is so so interested in foods. He watches us eat and drools. He demands to sit at the table when we eat. He weighs 17 pounds 😅 and downs 7-8 ounce bottles

Does starting solids help or hurt reflux typically?

Ours gave us the green light, but also asked us to wait until is reflux subsides. He's 5 months now and we're unsure when his reflux will stop. How do we even know when to start? I feel like he won't be able to start solids until like 8 months right now.

OMG, mine is the same! He just turned 5 months and is only now starting to barely tolerate tummy time. He's still pretty wobbly too. We even tried putting him in the Skip Hop activity center, but he's definitely not ready yet. He does love sitting upright, though! Going to wait around the same time until he's ready!

I have a question and can use some help. We just got my 3 month old’s tongue tie released, but she’s still not wanting to latch onto bottles. She’ll pus the nipple out with her tongue or kinda fold the nipple to the side… but she breastfeeds just fine and it’s so much more comfortable. The issue is that I go back to work next month (teacher), and she will need to take a bottle for daycare. What can we do to help her adjust to a bottle and be comfortable with it?

You mentioned reflux being a factor as to why you didn’t start, is there a reason why reflux would be a reason to start ?

Could you talk more about allergens? My firstborn is anaphylactic to raw and pure eggs and I’m feeling anxious about introducing it to our second born who is five months.
