the little place I bought mine from did that but said it was lojack. I looked it up and it was for the bank. it was under the dash though so when I needed some warranty work done, I asked the big dealership to please take it out. they left it in a way that I could disconnect it myself

my fiancees car dealership installed this incorrectly (third party tracker) and it messed up the electric wiring/harness and after some back and forth the dealership confirmed it and had to do 6k of repairs.

I had to keep jumping it come to find out. They had a tracking device on my car and it was screwing up the battery. It was drawing off of it.

Most dealerships have trackers in the cars they sell it’s hidden in the fine print. They use it if you default on the loan so they can repossess it. I was the office manager at a repo company for 11 years
