The real question is this: Is it acceptable for anyone to publicly threaten to kill another person? The answer should be an unequivocal no.
This isn’t about whether the individual is the President’s son or an ordinary citizen. It’s about upholding the rule of law. In any civilized society, a public death threat is a serious matter that warrants investigation. If such conduct is ignored or excused because of personal bias or public sentiment, we undermine the very principles of justice and accountability.
I once believed VeryDarkMan stood for fairness and common sense, but some of his recent comments leave much to be desired. If someone publicly threatened to kill him, would he dismiss it as harmless, or would he expect the authorities to intervene? The standard should be the same for everyone.
We cannot claim to support justice while selectively excusing threats of violence based on who is involved. The law must be applied consistently, without fear or favour. Violence and intimidation should never be encouraged, defended, or trivialized. A society that normalizes such behaviour is setting a dangerous precedent.
So, I ask again: Are we condemning a public death threat, or are we justifying it because it suits our personal opinions? Justice loses its meaning when it is applied selectively.
