Honestly open the gifts. It gives people the satisfaction of a big wave and a thank you. It’s grabby and rude not to when the party is literally about gifts

You can open gifts while people are eating it doesn’t have to be everyone gawking. I think it’s rude not to open gifts that people bring you in front of them.

I asked people not to wrap gifts for my baby shower. my SIL took everyone's gifts as they were coming in and arranged them pretty on the table so everyone could oooh and ahhhh over them, but no opening. We also supplied tags for people who wanted to add a tag

Mine is next weekend 🥰 I'm saving it to the very end and doing my "Thank you for coming" thing before it, letting people know they can leave or stay and then opening the gifts. I'm hoping this helps everyone feel comfortable (I know my family wants to watch but I don't want to make friends sit through it if they don't want too 😂)

Unwrapping gifts in front of the person giving me the gifts fills me with so much anxiety. i worry nonstop if I am showing enough gratitude or they'll think I hate it, or showing too much gratitude and now it seems like I'm faking it. I have hated it since I was a little girl. Birthdays were horrible. Santa gifts on Christmas wasn't so bad because Santa wasn't there watching me open the gifts so I could just relax and enjoy.

I didnt open gifts either. I put it on my invites. I would rather write everyone a personal note and spend time with them, than feel awkward having everyone stare at me for hours

my shower is in August and asked that no one wraps the girfts so I wont be opening any. I think opening gifts infront of everyone is so awkward

My shower is in August. We’re going to open the gift with whoever brought it when they get there, hang up any clothes and lay out anything else they brought so everyone else who comes can see what we got, everyone can eat as they want, hang out if they want, and leave when they want. I’m SO glad my mom was on board with this because I haaaaate sitting in front of people opening gifts.

We had a “display shower”. I told them no gift wrap just a bow so everyone can see and I don’t have to open anything. Everyone loved it (except the grandparents 😂). Love how people are always like showers aren’t about the gifts then make them about the gifts
