If I remember correctly to poach an egg you need a bit of vinegar in the water and you create a swirl, then break egg in and swirl a bit and then let it cook.

you needed to have created a whirlpool woty the water for the poached egg to be wrapped around the yolk. you just made a watery fried egg lol

so, in my experience, I've made a vortex in the simmering water and vinegar. drop the egg like you did(excellent form)... fold whites gently yet quickly, 3mins later, the perfect poach

you have to have distilled vinegar and enough water for the egg whites to fold over the yolk. Also, make a vortex or whirlpool with a spoon then pour the egg in the whirlpool. I will say, I haven't seen a poached egg look like that and I'm low key impressed 🔥
