@amyjackson9213: The fact that their answer to this is to go to the emergency room is honestly outrageous. Welcome to America. #healthcare #outrageous #crohns #crohnsdisease #fyp
I have an actively stuck kidney stone that needs removed and they can't get me in for a regular apt until 8 months from now I get told go to the er. Er says I need to see my specialist.

And yet people want free healthcare. If you think waiting until September is bad. Free health care will make it so much worse. Is it annoying we have to wait about a month to be seen. Yes. But sadly so many ppl are sick so it unfortunately is a bit of a wait. But this has nothing to do with politics. While I understand it's expensive to go to the ER, if you are truly concerned that's your best bet. Just be grateful we don't have free health care or this would be much worse.

I’m trying to get an IBS diagnosis but they are stuck on me having celiac even though all my results have been inconclusive. Now I can’t get back in until mid August to find out what we do next.

Providers really should have a handful of appointments available every single day for such situations!

As someone who has worked in healthcare for over two decades, we really are doing our best. Less and less people are choosing these career paths due to education costs, low pay, stress, and so many other factors. It got worse after COVID. Many left the field altogether. Even as a healthcare worker I haven’t even seen a Dr in 5 years with cancer history and chronic illness. Heath insurance companies and federally funded programs have made our system collapse. Please give some grace to those of us still trying to keep working in this field.

If your PCP is aware that you have a hx of crohns, they should be able to help you until you can be seen. They can piggyback off of your gastroenterologist previous prescriptions and authorize whatever meds you need, plus draw any labs (h+h, etc) that your specialist may need to view.

Can you reach out to your primary care to see if they maybe able to provide meds until your GI appt?

Thats so ridiculous they should have appt slots for these situations. I work for an Ophthalmology office and we have triage slots daily for emergencies . I am so sorry. I have awful GI issues so this resonates with me.

From one Crohn’s patient to another, I feel your pain. I mean is calling in a script of prednisone to calm the flare a crime? Good lord we’re cooked 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️. On another note I’m on Tremfiya injections and it’s working great. I’m on my 4th Gastro dr to note.
