The Information Commission is expected to function independently under the Right to Information Act. During Pinarayi Vijayan’s tenure as Chief Minister, Vinson M. Paul and later Vishwas Mehta served as the Chief Information Commissioners. If a complaint had already been filed, why wasn’t appropriate action taken when it was first received? If there was a delay, what was the reason? Why is no one questioning the Commission’s inaction or asking why it did not act sooner?
