@aly.wella: Today was officially my last round of chemotherapy. 🤍🎗️ What a journey it has been. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer at just 19 years old, I never imagined everything this journey would bring. There were days filled with fear, uncertainty, exhaustion, and pain. But there were also days filled with hope, love, strength, and more support than I ever could have imagined. This experience will forever be a part of me, but it will never define me. Instead, I hope it becomes a testimony of God’s faithfulness and a reminder that even in the hardest seasons, there is still hope. I plan to continue spreading awareness, educating others about breast cancer in young adults, and encouraging anyone who may be walking a similar path. If sharing my story helps even one person advocate for themselves or feel a little less alone, then every vulnerable moment has been worth it. I am beyond grateful for my family, friends, my incredible medical team, and even complete strangers who surrounded me with love during one of the hardest times of my life. Every prayer, message, donation, hug, and act of kindness carried me through more than you’ll ever know. My mom asked if I was going to get to ring the bell today. My treatment center doesn’t do bell ringing out of respect for patients who may never have the opportunity to celebrate that milestone, and I completely respect that. With the hospital’s permission, my family and friends surprised me with balloons and their own bell, creating a celebration that meant the world to me. It was such a beautiful reminder that every victory deserves to be celebrated, no matter what it looks like. Although chemotherapy is behind me, my journey isn’t over yet. I still have surgery and continued treatment ahead, but today marks the end of a chapter I wasn’t sure I’d ever see the end of. I’m choosing to celebrate this milestone with gratitude, hope, and faith for what’s still to come. To anyone who is currently fighting a battle of their own: don’t give up. Keep believing, keep pushing forward, and keep holding onto hope. Better days are coming. Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey. Your love and support have meant more than words can ever express. Here’s to healing, new beginnings, and the next chapter. . . #breastcancer #teencancerfighter #fyp #survivor #cancerbellring

No. This PMO. I will never get to ring that bell but I LIVE FOR hearing others ring it. It gives joy and hope. They should never diminish what you conquered. 🎉🥳❤️🩷

I was with my dad who was never going to ring the bell, and saw a woman ring the bell. I was torn up but happy for her, I look down and my dad was clapping and looked proud of her.

For those of you that are commenting that you work in oncology and stating the reason is because of those who may never get to ring it, I want you to consider our POV. All of your patients share in an unspoken bond. A club that we have to sacrifice everything to be a part of, yet we don’t want to be in it. We want to see our people make it. We want to hear them cross that finish line. Even if we know we’re not going to make it, it provides a moment of peaceful, celebratory joy. A reason to smile. The feeling that coursed through my body every time I heard that bell ring is indescribable. I was truly happy for them. Then I had my moment. Don’t take that away from them. It may be the last glimmer of hope they have left.

my hospital lets you ring the bell for all big accomplishments, finishing chemo, walking your daughter down the isle, having stable scans, etc… 🥰 I wish all cancer centers did it!

My cancer center does bell ringing for any milestone moment so that those who will always be on chemo get to ring the bell-could be any positive moment during treatment.

when my mom was doing chemo she asked if the bell was only for those who finish treatment and her nurse said that it was a *celebration* bell. she said some people rang it after first chemo, half way done treatment, or just because "today was a hard day and I did it". yes it's usually for completing chemo, but it should be for every victory through the journey!

listen.... I lost my mom to pancreatic cancer. she never got to ring her bell. ring the bells. cancer robs people of so much, any hope and any joy and any happiness that can come out of any cancer celebrations deserves its moment. I'm so happy for you.🥰

Them people ARE your friends and family!! I’m so disappointed in the hospital for not letting you ring the bell. Girl you get a bell and you go back in there and ring it as loud as you can❤️❤️❤️

Wow this world is getting way too soft. Let people celebrate their healing. Not everyone lives. It’s sad, yes. But that’s life.

I saw the caption that it’s out of respect for those who cannot ring the bell which breaks my heart but also I watched my mom ring the bell to then be diagnosed two more times after. I thought the bell gave hope but man it also hurts. What your friends did for you was beautiful and so supportive! And congratulations!

My mom never got to ring that bell but I can tell you for a fact every time she heard that someone she was talking to was in remission or just better at all she was always happy for them and it gave us all hope!

My center celebrates all milestones (end of treatment) with the option of ringing the bell so that even those of us who normally wouldn’t have the opportunity do!

I understand both sides. However we need to normalize that respect can be given to those who are unable to ring it while also celebrating those who can ring it. we cannot dim everyone's glow because one is fading. if everyone in the world did this there would never be a celebration.

I think the bell would make others happy and give them hope that the possibility to beat it is there. I understand the thought behind it but it's very sad.
