My mom was friends with them, there were actually 3 sisters in the car that all passed, but the third one wasn't in the fan club so is hardly ever mentioned. Their parents lots three daughters that night. 😢

I got backstage passes from Mykel and Carli back in 1994, after meeting them at the Weezer show. They were so awesome, friendly and kind. Teenage Fanclub and That Dog opened up for Weezer in Tempe Arizona. Wonder years level memories!

Thats why the song hits so hard, it's real. I can't listen to Hear you Me anymore unless I'm okay with sobbing for a while. It makes me think about my late husband and my 13 year old son I lost last year. I've always loved that whole album, my husband actually bought it for me when we were first dating, but when they played this at Warped Tour in DC I had to just sit down and cry for a while, at this point I'm fine with breaking down anywhere though, lol.

The first time I ever heard Hear You Me as teen, it made me so emotional and I cried, it was one of the first times I can remember being so overcome with emotion on the first time hearing it. I didn't know why, at the time I hadn't experienced any significant heavy loss, but I felt it. I remember looking up the song and finding out what it was written about, and sat down and cried again

Saw Jimmy Eat World last Friday on the actual 25th year anniversary of Bleed American. Jim told this story, sang Hear You Me and he was pretty emotional singing it. It was pretty special.
