They planned their retirement since they had their first job put their money in their Roth IRA retirement account instead of expecting their adult children to pay for their retirement. It’s called generational wealth. We have to change that mindset of leaving it up to “our kids”.

I am barely affording it. We came because we are a mixed status fam and we were concerned with how bad it was getting with ICE. My husband was supposed to have his residency already but they are so far behind in processing and it's worse since this administration came in. He was legally appoved to be a fostwr parent but still we had no residency he doesn't even have an appointment until next year! Now with this new administration denying so many ppl we may not even get his residency. We paid 10k for residency and there might not be a way to obtain them now. We left so he didnt risk an illegal deportation he had a letter stating he could legally stay until his processing date but even the lawyers said that ICE wasnt respecting due process so we left after he received his waiver. I just became permanently disabled if it wasnt for the money I paid into my SSDI and the ability to collect it we would be screwed. Mexico is not cheap at all if we hadn't built a house we would be in trouble my disability check is not much but it helps get us by.

Most Americans don’t even qualify for residency. If you meet the qualifications, you have no problem living there. What are you talking about?
