I’m trying to figure out how to deal with my narcissistic and manipulative mom but still keep access to my dad who has dementia 😭. I have to bite my tongue and not call her out on her crap to keep the peace so I can still see my daddy and know what’s going on with him. Plus I’m the only kid that lives anywhere near them. My brothers both live 6+ hrs away. I’m 45 minutes. So when my mom had to have surgery- I was the one that expected to be there 24/7 to help out. My dad can’t do much anymore and falls all the time. Thing is- I still have two kids at home. One that has summer practices in the opposite direction of their house and another one that’s special needs and has therapy two days a week plus dr appointments between the three of us. My husband works shift work so it’s usually me and the girls.
