White nationalists protested Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Australia, but the irony is hard to ignore. Modi has built one of the world’s most influential nationalist movements and has been widely criticised over allegations of anti-Muslim policies, Hindu nationalism and democratic backsliding. Yet despite sharing many themes associated with far-right politics, he became the target of white nationalists for one obvious reason. This video looks at the contradiction at the heart of white nationalism and why race is their defining factor.

Being nationalist kinda precludes you from liking other nationalists that aren’t a part of your country. It is kind of funny that white nationalist gave the biggest pushback against Modi but that’s kind of their entire ideology. They don’t like other people. Just because Modi also doesn’t like other people doesn’t much matter to them.
