Coco did confirm during an interview as Kson that she did graduate because, of this incident. But the hate towards her wasn't main the reason but the hate towards her friends. I forget the exact quote but it was along the lines of "if my friends are going to get hate for defending me/interacting with me then why dont I just leave". Coco truly loves for her friends and would never do anything that would cause them harm so leaving was the only choice she had to protect them. I also truly believe that Coco went hard about not being really sorry was to make sure the hated mostly stayed on herself and not towards Haachama. Coco knew she could handle it way better than Haachama. Now this is just my theory but if you watched Coco during that time it really felt like she was making her the hate stayed on her.
