@trust.god.twin: God did not just forgive your past. He swept it away completely. . . We carry guilt like it is something we are supposed to hold onto. Like bringing it up repeatedly to God somehow proves we are sorry enough, like reminding ourselves of what we did is the price we have to pay before we are allowed to move forward. So we stay stuck in it, rehearsing the worst moments of our lives, convinced that what we did is too heavy for even God to lift. But God does not say He filed it away or that He is choosing not to look at it. He says He swept it away like the morning clouds. Like fog that disappears when the sun comes out. Like it was there and then it simply was not anymore. That is not something you earned. That is not something you deserved. That is grace. And the same God who swept away everything you did wrong is the One standing there saying come back to Me. Not after you feel better about yourself. Not after enough time has passed. Now. The guilt you keep carrying was already dealt with at the cross. You are the only one still holding it.
