The way I ascended from my chair when I found out my old job (that I left totally out of the blue) had to hire 3 people to replace me, AND not a single one of them lasted a year. It’s almost like I was doing more than the work of 3 people huh curious. Almost LOVED responding no thank you the 3 times they asked me to come back. Cherry on top my current job has to deal with them on occasion and I call out ALL of their mistakes

the shittiest part of this is that most people when they ask for a paurose are not even asking 10 grand most people would b happy to receive 3/4k extra per year and would keep working at the same pace. but companies prefer to make everybody struggle than agree to pay people what they work for

Happened to me 2 years ago today handed in my notice, 7 years doing 3 people’s jobs… there have been 7.. yes 7 people doing my job and left coz it’s “too much of a workload” 🤣 HSE too so not an “easy job”

Asked for an 8% pay rise based on my performance since beginning a year ago, including finding a process failure that immediately saved upwards of $50k, plus ongoing. In down time instead of twiddling my thumbs I improved our documents and/or highlighted where we needed to, created an entire risk register and submitted multiple continuous improvement suggestions that were taken on board. After 6 weeks of no response I followed up and was offered 4.75%. My response was that 4.75% was what I was already entitled to under my contract so would therefore be seeking the additional 3.25% on top of that as I had gone above and beyond. I got told no, so guess who's no longer going above and beyond whilst also looking for another job. it would have been $3 an hour more and they wouldn't come to the party.

In a previous job I got wrongfully terminated cos they deemed I wasn’t able to do the job… I refused to sign a PIP due to unsubstantiated claims so I left. Turns out they had to create a whole department and over 5 people + head of department to do what I was doing on my own… as I left I deleted and took all my power BI and automation I created. For 6 months things were delayed and wrong. Apparently my name still comes up after many years since leaving.

New to the pod. But it doesn’t surprise me that Toni has done so well. I met her when she was at Jase and Pj. She was so lovely to me as a guy who just wanted to sit in and watch radio as a radio student. I hope she and Ryan get all the flowers they deserve.

Yup I feel this. Asked for 5%, was told no. Left, ended up at a job making 20% more. And they’ve gone through 4 people in 4 months since I’ve left. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Its the same when someone is off sick and you have to do double the amount of work. You should be paid their wage for doing their job aswel as your own job.

my partner was asked to train people earning more than him. he asked for a payrise and they said no, so he found another job. when he put his 2 weeks in, suddenly they could give it to him. He still left. couple years later he drove past and the business no longer existed XD

Most of the time is easier just to give people the pay rise than retrain few people to replace one senior staff.
