transsexuals having an actual distinctive category away from cissexuals is a good thing actually

You are misrepresenting the reason why people have started using the term politically. In the video you seem to frame the only acceptable use is as a joke. Otherwise you are "creating a hierarchy" or "saying you're one of the good ones"...Using transsexual to describe a medically transitioning experience isn't inherently transmedicalist. It's about highlighting that HRT and surgeries are healthcare, not optional self expression.
At a time when access to gender affirming care is under attack, distinguishing a medically dependent experience has political value. Otherwise, conversations tend to get overtaken by the concept of "validity" as allies tend to stop support there. When the point is to communicate the medical necessity of transition for some people.

I'm transsexual, because I'm changing my sex, and I really want and need a word to describe my experience

I use transsexual, my sex wrong and I am making efforts to medically transition to the right one, my gender is less rigid and defined, as I explore my self identity and explore it from the initial point of woman I find my understanding of my own gender fluctuates and changes

i prefer transsexual because I’m also transitioning my sex, not just assigning a different social construct to myself. I think bringing back the transsexual label is important now that the “sex # gender” mindset is becoming more common, which is good but sometimes it’s used against us.

I've seen a lot more ppl in the past few months use transexual to differentiate between social gender transitioning and medical sex transitioning 🕷️both groups are trans but have different experiences so I kinda get it

I use the word transsexual to describe my experience of having gender dysphoria and wanting medical transition 😋 I do wish we could just have this word tho, gender dysphoria is a pretty significant thing for many so it's nice to have a label that is just for us

The best thing is we don't really need to pick terms within the LGBTQ+ if you like a term more than the other all power to you. This of course comes with some limitations, a man cannot be a lesbian for example, but if a lesbian prefers sapphic why should we care? If someone prefers omni over pan or pan over bi why should we care? As long as we are united for everyone's rights.

i’m not a transmed in the slightest but i do consider myself transsexual, it’s just a micro label like any other 🤷🏻♂️

i like the term for myself more personally cuz the medical transition part was important to me enough to want to communicate it in that way. i also kind of like to "own" being someone whos inherently othered, so a more historically derogatory term accomplishes that too, like reclaiming a slur and using it as an identity descriptor. but it has nothing to do with how i see other ppl!

I differentiate, as a Transvestite (the legal definition, not the “sexual crossdresser” definition) who wants to acknowledge my privilege as an AFAB who identifies as a trans man but has a fear of medical intervention

I am definitely transing my sex, and consider it to be higher in accuracy than the umbrella term, but I rarely find it necessary to be that specific and actually use the word in most social situations.

i use transsexual (for myself) a lot of the time partially because it’s kind of an “icky” word, it’s the same reason i identify as a dyke, because my lgbt experiences are very weird and othering and so i tend toward using “less common” words to describe it !!! my gender/body experience is also extremely complex and strange, and it’s an effective way for me personally to get across the weirdness of my gender/body experience. it’s a very polarizing term though & it’s important to know how other people might think of your usage before you use it 🙂↕️

ngl I call myself whatever feels right in that moment. transgender, transsexual, transvestite, I really love the versatility of language AND I love reclaiming words that may have had more negative connotations because gender is so versatile and my identity is so versatile

I like it cause I feel like I don't have a"gender" to change in the societal sense. I'd prefer to look more male but I don't necessarily feel like I fall into the gender boxes of Man or Woman

I have also seen a group reclaim the word transsexual, because they felt that the word transgender is a "concession" to cis people, like "No no, see I don't claim to change sex, only the gender ahah, that would be crazy to claim I say I change sex", when HRT quite litterally does that BUT I also agree that some use it for the bad reason you just siad and it's a good PSA to say when someone say that to watch for other opinions. Just wanted to provide another observatiln and happy to see you on my for you :)
