my old man abandoned mum my brother and I he sufferd from alcoholism and mum done what she thought was best for us i grew up with little influence from a father figure i spent 25 years in active addiction until i found recovery and purpose in not being that father that abandoned his missus and children it hasn't been easy for any of us because im not perfect and im still learning but im proud and eternally greatful that today im something my father couldnt be i dont hold it against him because I guess at the end of the day he showed me something I didnt want to be.

You have done an awesome job by the sound of things. Maybe not perfect but for a kid to say that is pretty powerful. This is why I chose not to have kids. I couldn’t risk it. I’m still sorting myself out. I would’ve liked to have kids though

🫡 dad was military, mum as Koori intergenerational trauma I didn't hand it down but went down a criminal rebellious past I've only now started to break cycles I've failed abit but the failures are leading closer to healing and recovery it's spot on brother
