there are 2 main pancreatic diseases diabetes and pancreatitis I doubt she had diabetes, so it was pancreatitis which if it were acute could be fixed pretty fast so it's chronic pancreatitis, which has 2 surgeries she could've had, one removes it completely and moves islets (makes insulin) into the liver (Total Pancreatectomy with Islet Auto-Transplant), the other just a pancreas transplant if it's damaged enough (Pancreas Allotransplant). though that wouldn't have prevented her death sadly (I could be wrong, I'm not an expert)
