Just signed my 14th year in Busan 😂 The years go by FAST. Trust me😅 Congrats! Ours is simpler. Told about the contract changes and emphasized how we need to be independent. Go over housing for those who changed to housing allowance, school changes, and then visa renewal stuff.

As someone whose only worked in a hagwon for the last few years, it’s so interesting hearing about how epik works. It’s so different. Do you get to stay in the same schools/area or do you get moved around? What about housing?

Have you ever talked about you got into teaching at Epik? I have a BA degree in English and have long considered moving somewhere in SEA for awhile. I think teaching English to kids would be a good fit for me but none of my higher ed classes taught me how to “teach”. Did you take a specific education course for that or is it a learn on the job kind of thing?
