But as a local, my biggest tip to avoid the insane lines at Dotonbori is to head over to Shinsekai at night or explore the hidden alleys of Ura-Namba. That’s where you’ll find the best kushi-katsu (deep-fried skewers) and absolute retro-vibes without thousands of tourist buses. Please don’t ever ever go to a pet cafe, aquarium or zoo in Japan (or anywhere really) - it’s animal abuse and highly unethical ! Esp Japan has the worst animal welfare rights for any aquarium or zoo

I was gutted I walked over an hour to Namba Yasaka Shrine and got there JUST as the guy was shutting the gates! I got a 2 second glimpse of it and that was it! Loved Osaka though!
