@lauren.digitalsales: If I could go back to my first maternity leave, there are so many things I'd do differently Because honestly... Nothing prepares you for just how emotional and financially challenging maternity leave can feel at times. I remember trying to make maternity pay stretch... Watching the weeks fly by... And constantly worrying about having to go back to work before I was ready. So if I was doing it all again, here's exactly what I wouldn't do... 1. I wouldn't rely on maternity pay alone and just hope we'd somehow make it work! This made every month feel so stressful and I hated not being able to say yes to the play dates and coffee catch ups 💔 2. I wouldn't wait for the "perfect time" to start something. Because let's face it... As a mum, life is always busy. You'll always have a reason to wait. But nothing changes unless YOU change something 👀 3. I wouldn't wait until maternity leave was over to think about earning extra income. By then you're juggling work, childcare and everything else. Maternity leave actually gave me that time to learn around naps and in the evenings 🙌 4. I wouldn't spend so much time comparing myself to other mums online. I used to watch mums earning from home and think “There's no way I could ever do that” Turns out...I was more capable than I gave myself credit for💪 5. And I definitely wouldn't doubt myself as much.. Because mums do HARD things everyday 👀 Learning a new skill honestly isnt the impossible part! And that new skill ended up being digital products and Canva... Things like planners, templates, invitations, courses etc Fast forward to now, it's helped me: ✨ Extend my maternity leave ✨ Reduce my working hours ✨ Clear debt ✨ Travel with my girls ✨ And finally feel like I can breathe again. If I could tell the old me one thing, it would be this... You don't need to have everything figured out.. You just need to be willing to take that first step!
