@cgtneurope: At least 12,000 students and faculty members trapped in flood-hit buildings in Guigang, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, had been evacuated by Thursday with the help of emergency powered pontoon bridges. Torrential rains triggered by Typhoon Maysak have caused severe flooding in parts of the city since Monday. Each pontoon bridge has a load capacity of more than 60 tons and can transport up to 500 people in a single trip. have commented, in civil defence, PREPARATION is key, from forecast to rescue, the safe quick and "easy" evacuation speaks volumes for the extreme care to every detail, i think preparation, is integral and began with planning/design, from inception, like how did they know what size pontoon to bring, where to launch them, navigate the bridges, etc
