Lets analyse this: 2v4 retake on the A bombsite (notoriously difficult to retake) before the dude got two kills. I can’t see the money but since one player has an mp9, it’s reasonable to assume that the CT economy is low. The correct decision is indeed to save the AWP in this instance, which he was going to do before you shouting at him for no reason.
