filipino here. welcome to the community, kapamilya 🙏🏼🇵🇭 we were colonized by spain for 333 years so there's quite a bit of spanish residual influence in our modern culture. mexicans and puerto ricans are basically our cousins. i had a mexican friend in high school who really liked filipino cuisine because a lot of desserts were similar to mexican desserts she grew up with.
