Caesaropapism is deep rooted in orthodoxy. The orthodox churches seem to look beautiful with valid (but they are shismatic) sacraments. But their history, for example in 19th century the phylethism heresy (they banned it 1872) which is today an issue in orthodoxy, even if they claim it is not. The West rejected world leaders influence over the one holy catholic and apostolic church since the first centuries (even 2nd century popes, 325AD nicaea and later synod of sardica show this). Roman catholicism has absolutely no problem with orthodoxy as i have explained, but there is inconsistence in orthodox teaching and their works. And that is the main difference: The western leaders may lie or do wrong decisions and so on, but these leaders don‘t reign over the catholic church! In orthodoxy it is the opposite. The church should not be influenced by governments.
