This! I went from ER to remote triage nursing and I work harder now than I did in the ER. It’s non stop phone calls and I have to rely on creative questioning and my ears to figure out what’s going on as opposed to being able to look at someone and assess in an instant. I thought it would be easier but boy was I wrong.

Amen sister. I left nursing altogether, for the most part. But the nurse is still in there so even when I’m talking to Patients , I ask nursing questions because it’s just built-in. Real nurses are the ones who go to their job every day, no matter where it is and go out of their way to do the best that they can for their patients. And every nursing role is exhausting and its own way.
