The British Empire, worked within its time frame, European countries, we're competing for influence. Our frame of reference was that Europeans knew better than everyone else, we were more civilised and technologically superior. But bringing up the Nazis, that's ridiculous, my the 1930's we had agreed as a European society that some things were just wrong, both on the continent of Europe and around the World, attitudes had changed, and were changing.
