CAN I INTERVIEW YOU IN JAPANESE? 🎤🇯🇵 日本語6か月で獣医学を学ぶ東大生、渋谷に現る 🇵🇰🔥 A University of Tokyo veterinary student with only six months of Japanese appears in Shibuya 🇵🇰🔥 🇵🇰🤝🇯🇵🔥 雨の渋谷で出会ったのは、パキスタンのイスラマバード出身の男性。 In rainy Shibuya, I met a man from Islamabad, Pakistan. 彼の日本語は落ち着いていて、とても自然でした。 His Japanese sounded calm and remarkably natural. しかし、話を聞いていくと驚くことが分かりました。 But as the conversation continued, something surprising came to light. 彼は日本に来て、まだ約3か月。 He had only been in Japan for about three months. さらに、日本語を勉強した期間は全部で約6か月だと言います。 And he said he had studied Japanese for only about six months in total. 最初の約2か月は、パキスタンの大学で日本語を勉強していました。 He first studied Japanese for about two months at a university in Pakistan. そして現在、彼が通っている大学は——東京大学。 And the university he now attends is—the University of Tokyo. しかも、専攻は獣医学でした。 Even more surprisingly, he is majoring in veterinary medicine. そこで最後に、パキスタンの言葉で「獣医学」を何と言うのか聞いてみました。 So finally, I asked how to say “veterinary medicine” in a Pakistani language. 彼が教えてくれた言葉は—— The word he taught me was— 「Salotri」 “Salotri.” たった6か月の日本語で、自分の経験や専門分野まで伝えてくれた彼。 With only six months of Japanese, he was already able to talk about his experiences and academic field. 勉強した時間の長さよりも、実際に日本語を使う勇気が人を成長させるのかもしれません。 Perhaps what helps people grow is not only how long they study, but the courage to actually use Japanese. みんなは日本語を勉強してどれくらいですか？ 👇 How long have you been studying Japanese? 👇 「日本語が上手」とは、完璧に話すことではなく、こうして勇気を出して日本語で話してくれる人たちのことです。 Being “good at Japanese” isn’t about perfection—it’s about having the courage to speak like this. #streetinterview #shibuya #japanlife #learnjapanese #japan - @shintaro_tkd
