My late FIL was an incredibly successful lawyer, like generational wealth kinda money, & he was just like Offerman. Made his own coffee, took his secretary/legal assistants to lunch twice a week, mowed his own lawn, treated everyone with respect, & cooked dinner for the family, & the help, often
His funeral was packed. It was filled with people across the the socio-economic spectrum. There was so much love in that room (which is rare for an attorney's funeral 🤣)

as a former PA it’s part of the whole system cause if we don’t ask “talent” if they want anything then we get yelled at by our ADs for “not working”

you can definitely tell a big difference between actors who got their big break older vs younger. nick offerman was almost 40 when he finally got his breakout role in parks and rec.

I feel the same about the quote from Bojack Horseman where a character says "celebrities are whatever age they got famous at, it stunts their growth" and i definitely believe there is truth to that

i had a handler once and they would hold my drink with a straw so i could sip and i got annoyed and they were like “this is what i’m here for!!!!!” GIRL NO.

Was on a set for a TV show and it was raining SO bad, the crew were all soaked. One of us used an umbrella and got shouted at as “the umbrellas are only to be held above the casts heads”

the effect is the same but it's less about pampering actors than how much time and money it costs production if they spill coffee on themselves walking back from the coffee station

Been saying this. I was an extra on how I met your mother and the way they were treated was creepy and weird. They were like hearing your ice cream sundaes and we all just had to stare at them while they eat ice cream sundaes and we weren’t offered any.

I’m an actor and my non acting job is PA-ing. It’s so funny being on both sides 😅

really funny to see the comments on “oh but they could delay shooting or spill something “, like that urge to work for exhausting hours with that pressure is not part of the problem of the industry itself, yes we should take care of the actors but limits

100% they get babied too much but also as a PA pls get me to bring your coffee because the whole crew has to wait around for actors when they go get their own coffee n im trying to get this day over with n go home

Kayla :
It’s bc if an actor is off getting coffee or wandering around trying to find food or not where they are supposed to be, it halts production. If they have to keep stopping to find actors that can add up very quickly to production costs for the day. Time is literally money on a set

For real. I was the “talent” on a local commercial and even then it was super weird.

No literally. I did some background work and even between takes we weren’t aloud to look at or say anything to the principals. I get it’s a job but as an extra there were so many rules that if you didn’t follow “it was a small town and you’d never work again” 😅

I love being on a film set but the way people are catered on the sets can be a little over the top…..

They do it because they’re actually wrangling you because the PA’s get in trouble if they can’t find you and they’re ready for you on set… And they wanna keep you happy.
