@itvnews: An animal lover who was falsely accused of trying to harm a seagull in a video which went viral on social media says right wing agitators have an ‘agenda to divide us’. Nora Mubarak, who is from the Middle East but has legal status in the UK, was among a number of people who tried to help the bird after it was seen in distress in Grimsby. But after the video was posted online it had millions of views and was shared by a number of high-profile anti-immigration accounts, as well as by Oliver Freeston, the Reform leader of North East Lincolnshire Council. In a social media post he wrote that ‘all wild gulls are protected by the Wildlife and Countryside Act’ and said ‘perhaps Nigel Farage was right’. He later deleted the post, saying: ‘Fair play to the lady for rescuing the bird’.
