Correct tongue posture means the entire tongue is suctioned to the roof of the mouth. Not just the tip. The middle and the posterior third, closer to the root, need to be engaged against the palate too. This is what creates the upward and forward support that holds the hyoid, the jaw, and the cervical spine in alignment. But here is what most people miss. You cannot just force your tongue up there and expect it to stay. If your posture is collapsed, your head is forward, and your cervical spine is flexed, the tongue physically cannot reach the palate properly. The structures are working against each other. You need to correct the posture first. Bring the head back over the cervical spine. Open the thoracic area. Let the cervical curve restore. Then place the tongue. When both work together, the tongue supports the palate, the hyoid lifts, the submental area tightens, the airway opens, and the head stays where it belongs.
