@danfin04: A Monte Carlo simulation is crucial for proper riskmanagement. Not running one is a big mistake when it comes to propfirm trading. Propfirm trading has a different character than live trading: you don’t even need a profitable strategy. You just need to have a strategy that tends to rise as smooth as possible before a losingstreak takes you out. Combine that with a strict trailing drawdown and risk management is the most important aspect of propfirm trading. A Monte Carlo simulation shows you the best characteristics for a prop firm strategy. Try your strat and tweak the parameters to see what would give the highest odds of passing. My simulator compares the rules of 20+ propfirms including FTMO, Lucid, MFFU and more. Try it via the link in my bio. #trading #propfirm #daytrading #ftmo #riskmanagement

At 1% risk per day, you'd reach the 10% maximum loss limit in 10 trading days. To spread it across 30 trading days, your daily risk should be about 0.33%. FTMO's daily loss limit is 5%. Just theory 😁

If you take 74days on average passing your account you don’t know how to trade prop firms. When you have this rules you have to adapt and make your strategy efficient for that. One good strat for a prop is not for a live and viceversa

The problem is trader had too little sample size, take 1 million trade with 90% win rate 10% losing = 100k losing entries. This can happen on the beginning or any random phase. So trader need to understand that failing with 90% win rate is possible.
